I was thrilled to be asked to capture Charlotte and Richard’s wedding. I had the pleasure of meeting them both at Charlotte’s sister Beth’s wedding the year before. They are one of the happiest and most fun-loving couples I’ve met and I couldn’t wait to be part of this special day.

The plan; to take all those closest to them to the middle of the Spanish countryside and a 19th Century villa for the most magical outdoor wedding.

The gorgeous gardens of Casa Santonja provided a stunning backdrop. I arrived early as I knew I wanted to take my time to explore this place before getting the camera out. Wedding planner Marcella Doran and her team (Your Dream Wedding in Spain) were busy putting the finishing touches to gorgeous gardens where the reception would be held.

It was wonderful to see guests drive up and see this beautiful property for the first time. As Charlotte and her bridesmaids got ready inside, Richard, his groomsmen and all the guests gathered in the lush gardens enjoying their welcome drinks, chatting and taking selfies - all with much excitement.

It was a typically hot day and after an emotional and very happy ceremony, it was time for more drinks and a sumptuous 5 course meal. As I took a little break to enjoy the food and chat to some of the guests, I reflected on how lucky I was to be there; at this gorgeous venue and amongst so many smiling faces. Destination wedding goals!

Speeches done and as the sun began to set it was time to head to the cistern cellar for the evening celebrations. This hidden space soon filled as bride, groom and guests took to the dance floor accompanied by the wonderful sounds of JenJammin Sax. It was an amazing atmosphere and I didn’t want to leave the dance floor!

This part of Spain means a lot to Charlotte and Richard and I can see why. It’s absolutely stunning. Thank you for making me feel so welcome and allowing me to capture it all for you.
